What does WiTT stand for?

WiTT stands for Women in Telecommunciations and Technology

What does WiTT do?

WiTT is an informal networking group focused on education and enhancing women's careers by sharing experiences and lessons learned in members' career development. WiTT encourages mentoring and provides excellent networking opportunities.

How does WiTT provide networking opportunities?

The Group meets monthly and meetings are structured to allow time both before and after for networking.

What types of women are WiTT members?

WiTT members include business women at all stages in their careers in organisations including BBC, C&W, IBM, Intelsat, MCI, Reuters, Sprint, Warner Home Video, lawyers, consultants, accountants and entrepreneurs.

How long has WiTT been running?

WiTT was founded in November 2001 by a group of women executives all working in the communications and technology industries in the UK. These women realised that often they were the only woman in their organisation at a senior level and they set up WiTT to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and to share experiences.

What are WiTT's aims and objectives?

WiTT's objectives are:

  • To network and meet other women who share a common interest in the telecommunications and technology industries.
  • To educate members on current and future trends in the industry.
  • To provide guidance and mentoring through the exploration of real-life career paths.
  • To share ideas about how to operate in the current work environment.

Who runs WiTT?

WiTT is set up as a company limited by guarantee. The current Directors are Stephanie Liston, Annette Nabavi, Anne Heal, Michelle Senecal de Fonseca and Carolyn Kimber.

How can I become a member?

To register as a member simply e-mail your details to info@wittgroup.org. You will then be advised of forthcoming events and meetings, and we will send you a membership form.

How often does WiTT hold meetings?

We hold meetings once a month in central London, with a guest speaker invited to talk about topical industry issues.
